All-Abilities Dance Jam

We invite movers of all abilities and backgrounds to share, explore and connect through our unique physical languages and bodies. We will start together with an opening circle and a guided warm-up. From there we will open the space for improvisation, experimentation and playfulness. Musicians also welcome to come improvise with us!

This is an experiment in cultivating energy and presence, in distilling movement to the most basic principles, an experiment in breath and imagination. How can stillness and minimal movement tell a story or evoke emotion and connection in ourselves and the audience? Taught by Yulia Arakelyan.

DanceAbility Classes-Ongoing

DanceAbility uses improvisational dance to promote artistic expression and exploration between people with and without disabilities. This class cultivates a common ground for creative expression of all people. The material is drawn from the group present in a given situation and isolates no one. The method supports self-empowerment by offering ways that all individuals can participate fully in expressing their creative choices, including respecting one’s own limits. Taught by Aaron Wheeler-Kay and Yulia  Arakelyan
